Marine Conservation Zones (MCZs)

Marine Conservation Zones are a type of Marine Protect Areas. They are designated to protect nationally important examples of rare or threatened habitats and species in England. The Marine and Coastal Access Act 2009 provides the legal framework under which MCZs are established.
